inspect news 12 2016

Dear Reader,

This December issue of the inspect Newsletter rounds up our news for 2016.

We can say without a doubt that the Vision in November was the flourishing final act for the branch and indeed for our editors. The inspect team made perhaps small, but excellent contributions to the success of the fair with the presentation of the “inspect award 2017” for the categories Vision, Automation and Control, and the “inspect application forum”.

The year’s trends in technology and range of topics were again there for all to see. And  a lot of product highlights like the new ultra-compact series of lenses from Tamron or the new CMOS-cameras from Allied Vision were presented on the Vision show. The current focus of the Vison branch is “Embedded Vision” but “Hyperspectral Imaging” and “3D Imaging” are enjoying a great deal of attention, too.

“Embedded Vision” is going to be the topic of a new conference that will take place on 12th & 13th October in Stuttgart. The “Chii2017”, on 7th & 8th June, in Graz has already planned to focus on Hyperspectral Imaging. An exhibition highlight in 2017 is the “Control” in Stuttgart. Its doors open on 9th May for what will definitely be a fascinating four day fair. Last here, but first in the New Year, the fields of Optics, Electronics and Mechanics start the events off on 21st & 22nd February at the “W3+Fair” in Wetzlar.

As you can see, we have every reason to look back at 2016 with satisfaction and to look forward to 2017 with keen anticipation.

With this in mind I wish you the best for the rest of 2016, a gentle slide into 2017 and a good start to the year.
