Faro hires two industry veterans

Faro has hired two industry veterans. They will join the management team and manage the global hardware and software research and development teams. Avi Ray-Chaudhuri, Vice President of Hardware Research and Development, and Wesley Tilley, Vice President of Software Research and Development, joined the Company on August 31, 2020.

Avi Ray-Chaudhuri has more than 20 years of leadership experience in various industries, including semiconductors, advanced lithography and laser development. Most recently, he was Vice President Engineering, Commercial Lasers at Lumentum, where he significantly reduced product development cycle time and implemented world-class program management, engineering and operations processes. Ray-Chaudhuri earned a Ph.D. in Philosophy, Electrical Engineering from the University of Wisconsin and a B.S. in Electrical Engineering from Princeton University.

Wes Tilley has more than 30 years of experience in the telecommunications industry, primarily in product management and R & D leadership. Most recently, he served as VP of Communications Software as a Service at Oracle, where he led a strategic shift in the global business unit's strategy toward cloud-native SaaS offerings in the telecommunications industry. Tilley holds an MBA in General Management from Duke University and a B.Sc Computer Science from North Carolina State University.
