Sony launches ultra compact, digital colour HD block camera module
Sony Europe's Image Sensing Solutions division has added an ultra compact colour camera module to its range of FCB block cameras with digital outputs. Measuring just 50x47.6x54.2mm, the FCB-SE600 has been designed for space-restricted environments yet features a motorised optical zoom, full HD (1080p at 30fps) picture quality and Sony's Exmor 1/2.8 type CMOS sensor. The camera has been precision engineered in collaboration with the Sony Exmor development team to deliver unparalleled image quality, even in light levels down to just 0.1lx. more

Lumenera Launches 5.0 Megapixel 14-bit Camera for High Sensitivity Imaging
Lumenera introduced its new 5.0 megapixel USB 2.0 camera series for industrial and scientific imaging applications. Formulated with the Sony Super HAD ICX655 CCD sensor, the Lw560 and Lw565 feature a 2448 x 2048 resolution and selectable 8 or 14-bit output, providing exceptional color images in the visible and Near Infrared (NIR) light spectrum. more
Sony introduces three HD cameras
Sony Europe's Image Sensing Solutions division has added three high definition models to its FCB range of block cameras, which come with both digital and analogue outputs. All three HD units benefit from Sony's Exmor CMOS sensor technology. The camera modules are requiring just 3.4W (4.7W when the motors are active); are operational from -5oC to 60oC and are ideally suited to CCTV, intelligent transport, IP monitoring, and low vision applications. Vision Software Supports Smart Cameras from Sony

Cameras with High Frame Rates
IDS Imaging Development Systems announces the introduction of the ICX-445 CCD sensor from Sony for a selection of IDS's uEye camera models. The 1/3" sensor with a resolution of 1,280 x 960 pixels combines a very high frame rate with outstanding light sensitivity. Particularly in the near-infrared range, the sensor is exceptionally sensitive and thus ideal for use in industrial manufacturing environments and traffic surveillance. more
