Surface Inspection in Real-time

Before further processing, the quality of castings' surfaces has to be controlled. For this task, the measurement methods which are available on the market are either too slow for online use or not sufficiently flexible for frequent product changes, says Edixia, the provider of inspection systems. Thus, the company offers a technology which scans all surfaces of a product during the production run and analyses the 3D images thanks to an image analysis program. more

Laser Triangulation up to a Distance of 2 m

Micro-Epsilon has launched a new laser sensor: the optoNCDT 1710-1000. The sensor has a measuring range that starts from a distance of one metre from the sensor, so displacement can be measured at a distance of 2 m from the sensor. The sensor comes with an integrated controller in compact 200 x 83 x 48 mm housing. The diameter of the light spot is constant across the complete beam path. With a measuring rate of 2.5 kHz, the sensor provides 100 µm resolution without averaging. 4 ... 20 mA, 0 ... 10 V, RS422 or USB outputs are available. more

Precision out of Gold City

A combination of a high-resolution sensor system and precision mechanics is required for high-precision measurement of large, complex geometries. Depending on the task at hand, the optical properties of the measured objects, part handling and machine set-up, different measurement technologies need to be chosen. EHR, out of the “gold city” Pforzheim, is specialized in customized multi-sensor solutions for precision measurement machines. more
