IDS presents a multi-camera system with eight USB 3.0 cameras. Each of the eight newly developed USB 3 uEye CP cameras equipped with a highly sensitive 1.3 Megapixel e2v sensor delivers 25 frames per second. This results in a total data rate of 250 MByte, which are transferred via one single USB 3.0 cable to the host PC. Despite this enormous data rate the CPU load is a mere 20%. Hence, it is rather easy to implement multi-camera systems with the new IDS USB 3.0 camera.

IDS Imaging Development Systems Gpresented its new USB 3.0 uEye CP camera family at the Vision 2011. With its newest USB 3.0 camera, IDS will certainly set trends in the industrial camera market. More than 9 years of experience in the development and sale of USB cameras has consistently been implemented in the new camera family. The 29 x 29 x 29 mm small camera housing is not only compact, but due to its magnesium casing it is also lightweight and robust.

IDS announced today that its uEye camera family now has 18 models with a cutting-edge 1.3 Megapixel CMOS sensor featuring global shutter readout mode, which is typically only available in more expensive CCD models. The sensor also boasts high frame rates, achieving a readout speed of up to 60 fps at full format depending on the interface. Using the optional binning and digital image scaling functions, the 1/1.8" sensor from e2v can deliver frame rates of over 100 fps. The highest resolution is 1280 x 1024.

The uEye industrial camera comes with the uEye Cockpit software which allows easy setup for connected cameras.
You can now quickly find suitable parameters for optimal image settings without having to write a single line of programming code.
It is just as easy to configure the bandwidth management and to optimize the exposure time, frame rate or digital I/O settings. Saved in an INI-file the data can easily be imported into your own applications. This significantly reduces the need to adjust parameters within your applications.

One cable is enough for the new GigE uEye CP industrial camera from IDS. At 29 x 29 x 41 mm, the camera is one of the smallest models to feature PoE technology. It offers a Gigabit Ethernet interface that allows cable lengths of up to 100 meters, a robust housing, screw-on connectors, and optically isolated in- and outputs.
For users of analog cameras the new model range offers a powerful alternative. The aim was to combine the simplicity of USB with the performance of GigE. With the GigE uEye CP the company IDS has achieved this. It offers real ease of use.
