The Automated Imaging Association (AIA) has signed a memorandum of understanding with the Korean Machine Vision Industrial Association (KMVIA), a year-old trade association representing machine vision in Korea. The AIA announced the date for a kick-off meeting for the development of USB3 Vision, a new interface standard for machine vision using the USB3 connector. The kick-off meeting will take place from September 12-14, 2011 in Hamburg, Germany. This will be followed by a series of distributed development activities, a presentation of the draft standard at Vision 2011 in Stuttgart, and publication in 2012.

Bob has over 25 years of experience in the manufacturing sector, with a focus on global engineering management, strategic program and process management, primarily for the nuclear, defense and automotive industries. He holds a BS in mechanical engineering from Lehigh University as well as an MBA from Georgia Institute of Technology.
