Sony introduces three HD cameras

Sony Europe's Image Sensing Solutions division has added three high definition models to its FCB range of block cameras, which come with both digital and analogue outputs. All three HD units benefit from Sony's Exmor CMOS sensor technology. The camera modules are requiring just 3.4W (4.7W when the motors are active); are operational from -5oC to 60oC and are ideally suited to CCTV, intelligent transport, IP monitoring, and low vision applications. The FCB-EH6300 becomes the series' flagship camera and uses its 1/3" Exmor sensor to deliver 1080p video at 30fps. moreJul. 27, 2011

Hexagon Metrology releases new Coreview version 5.5

Hexagon Metrology announced today the availability of CoreView 5.5 for the Cognitens WLS400 automated and manual white light measurement systems. The new version offers improved capabilities in measuring a work piece's geometric characteristics as well as 2D cross section analysis tools. Among other enhancements version 5.5 includes measurement and GD&T inspection of planar geometries broadening the Cognitens WLS400 system's application support and 3D visualization tools that allow users to measure sheet metal features faster and easier than before. moreJul. 27, 2011

Inspecting adhesive beading on car windscreens

A new high-speed inspection system has been developed for the automobile industry, based on Micro-Epsilon's Scancontrol 2710 system. It detects the quality of adhesive beads as soon as they have been applied during the vehicle assembly process. The Beadmonitor system, developed in the UK, measures the height and width of the polyurethane adhesive beads while they are being applied to the edges of the screen. The sensor head is mounted directly behind the nozzle at the end effector of a robot. The sensor head can be easily set and configured. moreJul. 27, 2011

Zeiss provides Confomap Software

Carl Zeiss and Digital Surf announce the signing of an agreement enabling Carl Zeiss to provide Confomap software. Confomap is a surface imaging and analysis software for confocal microscopes and compound microscopes for topographical research. The standard ConfoMap ST package includes numerous analytical studies. Geometric studies calculate distances, angles, areas, volumes and step heights on 2D profiles and 3D surfaces. Functional studies, including the bearing ratio curve and height distribution, facilitate the assessment of friction and wear on engineering surfaces. moreJul. 06, 2011

3D Machine Vision Library Allows the Use of CAD Files

The CAD import Tool is a module of the SAL3D library that allows any user to easily generate a cloud-of-points from a CAD file. The software uses such cloud-of-points as a reference model for comparison with scanned objects obtaining the differences between the real object and this 'golden' virtual representation. New High-speed 3D Camera with GigE Interface

AT extends the C4 camera series of high-speed 3d sensors. The new C4-2040-GigE comes with a resolution of 2048 x 1088 pixels and delivers more than 66 million 3D points with a profile frequency of up to 32 kHz.
