VDMA begins anniversary year with new Internet portal

17.01.2017 -

The world may not revolve around mechanical engineering, but without it, very little in the world would revolve. From nano to giga, almost everything is produced using machines. Humanity is facing huge challenges. From energy supplies, infrastructure and mobility to food supplies and human-robot collaboration, machines are always needed to solve the most urgent problems.

Multimedia reports on mechanical engineering

Mechanical and plant engineering provides the solutions. VDMA now demonstrates this on a new, responsive Internet portal. Visit Humans-Machines-Progress to experience how humans and robots will work together in the future, how our food will be processed and made safe, and how fossil fuels can be replaced with environmentally-friendly alternatives. Multimedia reports show you the path to our future and the contribution mechanical and plant engineering is making. The portal will open with three of these reports; others will follow every quarter.

Work 4.0: Humans at its heart
Energy: Synthetic gas from green electricity
Food: Milk – from the field to the fridge

Strong origins for the future

With around 3,200 member companies, VDMA is Europe's largest industrial association. Employing one million people, mechanical engineering is Germany's largest industrial employer. “Our members shape people's lives and make them easier every day with their products and services. It is they who make progress possible. VDMA has been the joint representative of all these mechanical engineering companies for 125 years. We see this long tradition as an obligation to play our part in guiding the way into the future. The new Internet portal Humans-Machines-Progress is a successful example of this, as a huge range of fields within the association contribute together,” says VDMA Executive Director Thilo Brodtmann.
