SpectroNet Collaboration Forum 2016

16.02.2016 -

The Fraunhofer IIS – Silicon Saxony – Sensors Bavaria – AMA – SpectroNet Collaboration Forum 2016 is an international conference focusing on current applications for innovative photonic micro sensor technologies and will be held in Dresden on the 23. March.

Fraunhofer Institute for Integrated Circuits IIS, Design Automation Division EAS is developing tools and methods for the design of increasingly complex microelectronic and mechatronic systems. As a partner to industry, they produce system solutions for a wide range of fields and applications.

Silicon Saxony e.V. is a registered industry association of about 320 companies, research institutes, universities and public authorities in the microelectronics and related sectors in Saxony, Germany, with around 40.000 employees. Many, but not all, of those firms are situated in the north of Dresden. With a name chosen referring to Silicon Valley, the area and the union - in many aspects - represent the only meaningful European center of microelectronics and software. Many of those firms have very research and capital intensive business models competing with subsidized global players, mainly from Asia.

Strategische Partnerschaft Sensorik e.V. is the enabling cluster for Sensors Bavaria. The cluster organizes collaborations between companies, developers and other service providers as well as universities and research institutions for mobile smart sensorics applicable in the industry 4.0.

AMA Verband für Sensorik und Messtechnik e.V. links about 480 members from research, development, production, and distribution with the representatives of the various user industries. AMA represents the interests of these members in the economic and political environment. Thus, the AMA provides science and industry with a competent network and a broad platform for developing innovative joint solutions. SpectroNet International Collaboration Cluster (ICC) is a leading cluster for photonic micro sensors with digital image processing for measurement and quality assurance systems. SpectroNet applies with its clusterpartners and customers efficient cross-sectorial sharing services for personalized networking in competences and resources.

Dresden has a long history as the capital and royal residence for the Electors and Kings of Saxony, who for centuries furnished the city with cultural and artistic splendor. The city was known as the Jewel Box, because of its baroque and rococo city center. Dresden was and is a cultural, educational, political and economic center of Germany and Europe as well. The Dresden University of Technology is one of the 10 largest universities in Germany and part of the German Universities Excellence Initiative.
