14th EMVA Business Conference with over one hundred participants

European spring meeting in Edinburgh

Machine vision experts from more than 15 countries across the globe currently prepare for the European spring meeting of the machine vision community: Well over one hundred participants have registered to-date for the 14th EMVA Business Conference 2016 which takes place 9 – 11 June in Edinburgh/Scotland. Keynote Speaker on the first conference day will be the British financial journalist Martin Vander-Weyer with an outlook on Europe's economy. In the technical session Dr. Chris Yates from Odos Imaging will answer the question “3D Time-of-Flight Imaging - Ready for Machine Vision?” and Albert Theuwissen, founder of Harvest Imaging will talk about latest developments on image sensors. Prof. Dr. Bernd Jähne from Heidelberg University will give a speech on “Industry & universities: How to educate and innovate?” and in his function as EMVA Board Member also moderate the following panel discussion under the same title.

On the second conference day, the new EMVA country report 2016 with a special focus on the machine vision market in the host country UK as well as Ireland will be introduced, and Jeff Bier, founder of the Embedded Vision Alliance will elaborate on “Five Technology Trends That Are Transforming Embedded Vision”. Later on the 2016 winner of the EMVA Young Professional Award will be awarded and given the opportunity to present his work. The conference closes with a keynote speech by Michael Rickwood, Coaching Director and Creative Partner at Ideas on Stage, titled “The fine line between the Actor and the Speaker”.

Shortly prior to the official start of the EMVA Business Conference, EMVA members meet in Edinburgh for their 2016 General Assembly.
